CoEnzyme Q10 - The most efficient manner in which to protect the skin from lipid peroxidation. What is Lipid Peroxidation? Lipid peroxidation (LPO) is a free radical-related process that is associated mostly with cellular damage as a result of oxidative stress. It is the reaction of fats and oils with oxygen to form peroxides. As the skin is the third most fatty organ in the body, it is little wonder that the effects of lipid peroxidation should manifest itself as wrinkles and brown "age spots", which are a direct by-product of lipid peroxidation.

What is CoEnzymeQ10? CoQ10, as it is often called, has at least three important roles in the body. It is part of the inner membrane of the mitochondria, which is the power station of the cells. It is also involved in the formulation of the energy-storing adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP) in the citric acid cycle. Thirdly, CoQ10 is an antioxidant. It helps neutralize harmful free radicals, which is a key function in prevention of premature aging.

When do I need it? Various factors, such as aging, stress and some medications, can lower the levels of CoQ10 in the body. As a result, the ability of cells to withstand stress and regenerate declines. Unfortunately, the levels of CoQ10 in the body almost inevitably decline with age. In fact, CoQ10 is regarded as one of the most accurate biomarkers of aging since its decline correlates so well with the aging process. In some studies, rodents treated with supplemental CoQ10 lived up to 30 percent longer than their untreated counterparts. In most people over thirty, levels of CoQ10 in the skin are below optimum, resulting in lesser ability to produce collagen, elastin and other important skin molecules. CoQ10-depleted skin is more prone to damage by free radicals, which are particularly abundant in the skin since it is exposed to the elements.

• Boosts skin repair and regeneration. • Reduces damage by free radicals, such as brown "age spots" and wrinkles. • Small particle size penetrates skin cells relatively easily.

DMAE is an amazing nutrient that extends the life of cells, inhibits the cross linking of proteins, which gives the skin a tone and firm appearance. The firm appearance that DMAE can bring to the skin occurs within about 20 minutes and wears off by the end of the day. DMAE has become very popular as a result of Dr. Nicholas Perricone, M.D.'s top-selling book, The Wrinkle Cure, in which he promotes supplementing with DMAE as a treatment for reducing wrinkles. When applied to the skin DMAE would stimulate acetylcholine release which would trigger a response in the muscles of the face. This activity creates a firmer facial tone and less sagging.

Evening Primrose Oil: Evening Primrose Oil is good as a natural source of the essential fatty acid, Gamma Linolenic Acid, which is needed by the body. Essential fatty acids are critical in the production of prostaglandins. In the body prostaglandins help regulate fat metabolism, inflammatory response, hormones, as well as the cardiovascular, immune and central nervous systems. Modern diets and lifestyles may block the conversion of the essential fatty acid LA into GLA. Evening Primrose Oil is especially helpful in treating premenstrual syndrome (PMS), menstrual cycle irregularities, menopause, and endometriosis. It is used to promote smooth skin and to treat actopic eczema. It is also used in the treatment of arthritis, particularly rheumatoid arthritis, and to improve proper joint function. It is also useful in the treatment of diabetic neuropathy, Mastalgia (breast pain), prostatic hypertrophy, gastrointestinal disorders, viral infections, Alzheimer's, cardiovascular disease, and hypertension.

Essential Oils: Fragrant oils obtained from plants. Essential oils are distinguished from those known as fixed oils, which are mainly triglycerides of fatty acids. Essential oils have been obtained from over 3000 plants and are designated and defined by the plant species and sometimes the geographical location. The sources of these oils are diverse, including flower petals (for example, rose and jasmine), spices (cinnamon and ginger), pine oil and turpentine, and citrus fruit peels. Compounds present in the juice that may contribute to the distinctive flavor of a fruit or berry are not, strictly speaking, components of the essential oil. Chemically, essential oils are extremely complex mixtures containing compounds of every major functional-group class. The oils are isolated by steam distillation, extraction, or mechanical expression of the plant material; often only certain parts, such as roots, buds, leaves, or flower petals, are used. Essential oils have been produced and used for flavoring, incense, Aromatherapy, and medicinal purposes for many centuries.

Fragrance Oils (vegan) are created fragrances (they can be completely lab created or blends of EOs, FOs, etc to achieve specific scents not found in nature) and do not offer the therapeutic benefits that essential oils alone can offer. Some of the reasons why fragrance oils may be used over essential oils are...some plants are endangered from over-harvesting (such as sandalwood) and could face extinction due to over-harvesting and illegal trade (rather than add to this problem available fragrance oils are substituted), some scents do not exist as an essential oil (examples: there is no such thing as a lilac EO, apple pie EO, etc.), many popular scents must be created or made from a blend to mimic a specific scent. Lastly some essential oils, though have a lovely scent are too costly, can not be safely used on the skin and some specifically are not recommended for use with certain physical conditions. So fragrance oils are used in their place to achieve the identical scents or blend. There are neither heath benifits nor hazards to the use of fragrance oils. All of our fragrance oils are cosmetic grade and most are oil "blends" which are made to mimic certain specific scents. Fragrance Oils: Also known as aroma oils, aromatic oils, and FLAVOR OILS, are blended synthetic aroma compounds or natural essential oils that are sometimes diluted with a carrier like vegetable oil. Aromatic oils are used in perfumery, cosmetics, flavoring of food, and in aromatherapy.

Ginger (Essential Oil): Spicy, woody, sharp, warm, with a hint of lemon. It is antiseptic, analgesic, expectorant, laxative, and aphrodisiac. Aids memory, helps mental fatigue, arthritis, and cheers one up. Eases sore throats, aches and pains, and poor circulation. Settles the digestive system, effective against nausea, hangovers, jet lag, sea and travel sickness. Relieves cramps, rheumatic pains and muscle spasms. A valuable remedy in cases of impotence.

Commercial manufacturers remove the beneficial glycerin during their product production to resale for extra profits. Glycerin / Glycerine: USP grade / Kosher glycerin is vegetable derived and great for many craft and cosmetic applications. Widely used as an additive to products as a humectant (draws moisture from the air), lubricant (for use in soaps, lotions, and scrubs).

Goats Milk: Goats milk contains caprylic acid which aids the skin's mantle in shedding dead skin cells. Goat's milk helps to balance pH levels and is rich in Vitamin E. Our skin benefits from contact with whey protein and lactic acid. Lactic acid helps smooth skin by exfoliation (removes dead skin cells), and milk also contains Vitamins A and D, whose benefits include giving skin strength and suppleness. Goat's milk- Recognized as a natural emollient for centuries. Helps soothe and moisturize the skin, with three times the beta-casein as cow's milk, which are easily absorbed into the skin, allowing for quick hydration. Contains important vitamins such as A, B6, B12 and E. Levels of triglycerides,as well as capric, caprylic and caproic acid helps balance the skin’s natural pH and promotes natural exfoliation of dry skin. Goat Milk smooths skin, moisturizes and allows for better penetration of skincare ingredients. Many milk based soaps are made of goat's milk, which has the same ph as human skin. Why Goats Milk? From ancient times until today, milk and milk products have been used for medicinal and cosmetic purposes. Goat milk protein contains essential amino acids as well as vitamins A and D and minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium and phosphorus. With its natural emollients, goat milk soap can relieve dryness and leave your skin feeling silky soft. Goat milk soap is often recommended by dermatologists for their patients who suffer from skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and acne. Grape seed Oil: Grape Seed extract is derived from the small seeds of red grapes of the same sort used to make wine. The Grape Seed extract is rich in flavonoids; phytochemicals which have antioxidant properties. Antioxidants are believed to safeguard cells against the ravages of unstable oxygen molecules called free radicals, and prevent numerous ailments. Commonly known as PCOs (procyanidolic oligomers),they are the most valuable flavonoid in Grape Seed extract. Besides their antioxidant powers, PCOs are thought to improve blood circulation and help strengthen blood vessels, which is particularly beneficial to those suffering from heart disease and cancer. Pycnogenol (pik-NODGE-en-all) is an alternative source of PCO. Experts have compared the health benefits with those of Grape Seed Extract, and many research studies examining the therapeutic effects of PCOs have found it to be helpful, and in some cases more useful than Grape Seed extract; however, it is more expensive. PCO containing drugs are prescribed for various vascular (vessel) disorders that are likely to benefit from increased blood flow, such as diabetes, leg cramps, varicose veins, arm and leg numbness or tingling and even impotence. The effects of improved circulation has been shown to be beneficial for those with macular degeneration and cataracts, and can reduce eye strain. Grape Seed extract can also block the release of the pain and inflammation causing chemical, prostaglandins, in those with endometriosis. It also acts as a natural antihistamine to control the sneezing and congestion associated with allergic reactions. The antioxidant power of Grape Seed extract helps protect muscle cells from damage associated with fibromyalgia. It is also used as an ingredient in facial creams to help maintain skin elasticity.

Honey works with the skin’s ability to stay hydrated by attracting and retaining water, an important factor in its ability to maintain softness, suppleness and elasticity. Suitable for sensitive skin and baby care products Effective treatment for minor abrasions and burns, in its all natural form, documented by recent medical research as an effective antimicrobial agent.

Hyaluronic Acid - is one of the most exciting ingredients on the market today. Hyaluronic Acid was discovered by Karl Meyer in 1934 and has been successfully used in personal care and wound healing. Until the 1990’s the only method of producing hyaluronic acid was extracting it from rooster combs. Currently there are two forms of hyaloronic acid on the market: one from rooster combs and the other by fermentation in the lab. Essential Wholesale only uses the vegan approved lab created version. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the extracellular matrix of human tissue. Topically applied hyaluronic acid forms an air permeable layer and penetrates into the dermis, thus boosting the elasticity and hydration of the skin. The protective breathable barrier on the skin locks in moisture which gives the skin a youthful appearance. The cuticular layer of the skin normally contains 10-20% water, however as we age it can drop to below 10%. Hyaluronic acid comes to the rescue with its unique ability to hold more than 1000 ml of water per gram of hyaluronic acid, which is a key factor in allowing the skin to retain more water. Amazingly, hyaluronic acid adjusts its moisture absorption based on the relative humidity in the air. It is the ideal ingredient in skin care products as it adjusts to the skin’s need for a moisturizing effect depending on the relative humidity of seasons and climate of an area. With the new, more advanced delivery systems you can really take advantage of the power of actives by getting them past the top layers of dead skin and into the tissues where they are needed. CoEnzymeQ10:: The most efficient manner in which to protect the skin from lipid peroxidation. What is Lipid Peroxidation?:: Lipid peroxidation (LPO) is a free radical-related process that is associated mostly with cellular damage as a result of oxidative stress. It is the reaction of fats and oils with oxygen to form peroxides. As the skin is the third most fatty organ in the body, it is little wonder that the effects of lipid peroxidation should manifest itself as wrinkles and brown ‘age spots’, which are a direct by-product of lipid peroxidation. The power of ubiquinone now in a delivery system because 1% in the tissues where it can be effective is better than 100% that just sits on the top in the dead layers of skin. This generous mix of potent antioxidants stimulates collagen production, refines wrinkles and rebuilds damaged skin cells. Product goes to work immediately. Use daily for optimum results. Works wonders on most skin types, preferred by those with aging, damaged and undernourished skin. This contains many vitamins, fruit extracts, and most importantly CoEnzyme Q10. What is CoQ10? The most efficient manner in which to protect the skin from lipid peroxidation.
